XR Patent

August 31, 2010

Quickdraw has been making modular conveyors for automation for over 20 years now.  But we are still improving our product lines with new ideas and innovative products.  As an example of that, we have recently been awarded another patent in conveyor technology.  The unique features of our newest conveyor line, the XR Series , are now covered under U.S. Patent Number 7,748,520.  This series of conveyor includes a slip roller, open-center design and is great for mid-size pallets and products such as solar cell frames.  I hope you check it out.

In other news, a team from Ohio State’s engineering program has broken the Electric Vehicle land speed record .  Congratulations!  (h/t gm-volt.com)

We’ve got Live Chat!

August 26, 2010

You may have noticed something else new about Quickdraw’s website–besides the blog, I mean.   We have added “live chat” capability to our website.  If you have a question about anything related to Quickdraw while you are on our site, simply click the chat box on the lower right hand corner and enter your question.  A Quickdraw representative (maybe me!)will reply promptly with an answer your question.

Here’s a brief website that graphically shows how a few mechanisms work, that I thought was interesting.

Once again, if you have questions, topic ideas, or comments, I’d like to hear from you.  You can send me an email at the link.  Or, to comment on the blog page, just click the blog post heading to go into the page for that specific post. There you will find the feedback that others have shared as well as the input box to offer your own comments.

See you next week!

Hello!

August 24, 2010

Hello and welcome to the Quickdraw conveyor blog!

This new addition to our website will offer commentary, news, photos, and links to other information of interest.  Since the focus of Quickdraw’s business is material handling for assembly automation, I’m sure there will be plenty of discussions around that area, including  lean manufacturing, green manufacturing, and such.  I don’t plan to talk exclusively about conveyors, however. New and interesting technology outside of assembly automation will be fair game as well.  Of course, we will also discuss new developments at Quickdraw Conveyor Systems as they happen.

If you have questions, topic ideas, or comments, I hope to hear from you.  Click the blog post heading to go into the page for that specific post. There you will find the feedback that others have shared as well as the input box to offer your own comments.

I hope you enjoy this addition to our website!

Lean Solutions

Quickdraw conveyors are an excellent choice for Lean Manufacturing initiatives. They address each of the classic seven wastes, predominantly due to the inherent modularity which easily leads to a levelized, low work-in-process, pull-type assembly system.

Green Efficiency

Quickdraw conveyors use compact, efficient 24 VDC brushless motors to drive each section. This is not only safe, both electrically and physically, but economical to run.

Clean Operation

As well as being compact and modular, Quickdraw conveyors are designed to be clean. They provide an economical solution for clean assembly and manufacture. An independent analysis confirmed the Class 1000 (ISO Class 6) rating of our MR conveyor system.
